PW Purpose: Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves
- to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
- to support the mission of the church worldwide,
- to work for justice and peace,
- and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.

Presbyterian Women (PW) is the national women’s organization of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). With a history of more than 200 years and more than 300,000 members, PW is organized at all levels of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
There are 5 groups of women at First Presbyterian church that meet as part of Presbyterian Women. These circles meet monthly in member homes and the church for fellowship and to study and discuss scripture passages. The 2018-19 Horizons Bible study is called God’s Promise: I Am with You. The nine lessons trace the repetition of God’s promise of presence throughout the Bible. Newcomers are always welcome. The circles are:
