Children’s Church for Pre-K – Second Grade, 11:00 a.m. Worship Service
Children are important members of our worshiping community. We promise at baptism “to guide and nurture our children by word and deed, with love and prayer, encouraging our children to know and follow Christ.” Remembering this promise and knowing that children learn best by “doing,” children are always welcome to participate fully and remain in worship with their families. However, we do understand that at times children may need a different worship environment, one that is created especially for them. We offer Children’s Church at the 11:00 a.m. worship service for children ages Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. After the “Passing of the Peace,” children will follow Ms. Natalie or the Children’s Church leader from the sanctuary to the Children’s Ministry Suite.
During Children’s Church, the children will worship in a variety of fun ways. Each month the children will join the little church mouse for Bible Buddies and begin to meet and learn about a different person for every letter of the alphabet from the Bible. In addition, Mrs. Charlotte Chromiak, who leads our Cherub Choir will do Sunday Morning Music Time two Sundays a month during Children’s Church for children Pre-K – 1st Grade.
When a child begins his or her 2nd Grade Year, they remain in worship during Communion Sundays and on the Sundays when the St. Andrew’s Choir (2nd-5th Graders) sings. To make sure that this sweet group of children is supported during this time of transition and given a time to ask questions specific to the worship service, our 2nd graders will join Mrs. Natalie (Director of Children’s Ministries) and a 2nd Grade parent for their very own Ready for Worship Time once a month during Children’s Church. We will celebrate the beginning of this important transition by officially welcoming our 2nd graders to The Lord’s Table on World Communion Sunday, the 1stSunday of October, at the 11:00 a.m. worship service.
