The rehearsal will normally take place during the week before the wedding day, or even the day before. Please see that the entire wedding party arrives promptly at the appointed time for the rehearsal. All members of the wedding party, including ushers and parents of the couple, are cordially invited and urged to be present.
The minister will run through the service, everyone will be shown where to stand before and during the service, and the rough timings of the service will be finalized. Prior to the rehearsal, decide which groomsmen or ushers will usher the mothers and grandmothers to their seats. Please arrange for the wedding license to be brought to the rehearsal and given to the officiating minister.
As well as being a practice run for the service, the rehearsal also serves as a meeting time for any members of the wedding party who have yet to meet.
The bride and groom often take the opportunity to dine the wedding party as a token of their appreciation. It would also be appropriate for the bride and groom to pass on their gifts to their attendants during this time.
