An Update on Public Health Protocols at First Presbyterian Church of Athens - 12/22/2021

December 22, 2021

Dear friends in Christ,

As you may recall, the Athens-Clarke County Commission Declaration of a Local Emergency enforces the wearing masks in most indoor settings when the Centers for Disease Control count of the local seven-day case rate is higher than 100 per 100,000 residents.

On Wednesday, December 22, the CDC reported a case rate for Athens-Clarke County of 122.34 per 100,000 residents; therefore, all FPC members and friends are asked to observe the ACC mask ordinance while inside the church building.

While this is not the “good news of great joy” that we anticipate in this season, the building remains open for in-person worship and other gatherings. We’re looking forward to three joyful Christmas Eve services at 4:00, 6:00, and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, and livestreaming of worship services will continue. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate the ever-changing waters of the pandemic!

May the peace of Christ be with you and yours this season and always,

Dr. Ryan Baer, Senior Pastor
