Festival of Lessons & Carols, Sunday, December 15, 11:00 a.m.
Join us for A Festival of Lessons and Carols on Sunday, December 15, at 11:00 a.m., led by the choirs of First Presbyterian Church with guest instrumentalists. The service will include music by Dale Adelmann, Michael Bedford, Dan Forrest, and Donald Pearson.
Lessons and Carols, in its current form, was first held on Christmas Eve in 1918. It was created by Eric Milner-White, who at the age of thirty-four had just been appointed Dean of King’s College after his experience as an army chaplain convinced him that the Church of England needed more imaginative worship. It promises to be a meaningful part of our preparation to celebrate again the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In the midst of our troubled world, this service will be a meaningful part of our preparation to celebrate the hear again the story of God’s love and make this house of prayer glad with our carols of praise.
