Classic City Marathon this weekend, road closures

This Sunday, January 28, Athens is hosting the Classic City Marathon. The race will begin 7:30 a.m. at 130 Hancock Ave. (between Lumpkin St. and Hull St.). There will be partial road closures and the racecourse will be surrounding Downtown Athens. Please use caution as you are driving to FPC this Sunday.

The suggested route for members attending Sunday School, 8:45 or 11:00 a.m. services is to use the GA-10 Loop, take exit 12 (Commerce), take Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy and turn on College Ave. Please be prepared to stop at the intersection of College Ave. with Cleveland Ave. (by ACC CHARM, Center for Hard to Recycle Materials), as the marathon racecourse will be passing through that road.
